As a charity employee, you can salary package the following benefits.

General Expenses

You can salary package up to $15,900 towards general expenses.

Salary Packaging Card (Beyond Bank)

Package a handy Beyond Bank Salary Packaging Visa Card to pay for everyday purchases, if your employer permits the use of this salary packaging card for your general expenses. Funds are credited to the card via salary deductions.

Home Rental Repayments

Your rent payments for your own home can be included in your salary package up to the threshold limit (capped) for your industry sector, per FBT year.

Other Personal Expenses

Insurances, school fees, and travel expenses are just a few examples of the benefits available to package. These benefits may have GST payable or be GST free.

Credit Card Repayments

Your credit card repayments are considered a personal expense and can be included in your salary package up to your industry sectors threshold limit, per FBT year.

Other Household Expenses

Your everyday household expenses such as council or water rates, household repairs and maintenance can be included in your salary package.

Utility Expenses

Your everyday utility expenses such as your gas, electricity and telephone bills can be included in your salary package. This is limited to your threshold limit for your industry sector per FBT year.

You may not have to pay GST for this benefit.

Mortgage Repayments

Mortgage repayments including normal home loans (principal & interest), interest only home loans, home loans with redraw facilities and other loans that cover the financing of your home, can be included in your salary package up to the threshold limit for your industry sector, per FBT year.

Entertainment Expenses

You can salary package up to $2,650 towards entertainment.

Entertainment

Your entertainment expenses include expenses such as food and drink costs in an entertainment or social setting; and venue or accommodation costs.

You are entitled to salary package entertainment expenses up to a capped maximum of $2,650 per FBT year over and above the 'general expense' threshold limit for your industry sector.

Work-Related Exempt Expenses

You can salary package these work-related benefits in addition to your general and entertainment capped benefits.

Other Work Related Expenses

Pay for your other work related expenses such as self-education with your pre-tax salary.

Work From Home Expenses

Pay for your work from home related expenses such as home office with your pre-tax salary.

Professional Subscriptions & Membership

Pay for your professional subscriptions and memberships with your pre-tax salary.

Bus Travel to Work

Pay for your bus travel to work with your pre-tax salary.

You can include your bus travel from home to work on Translink bus services in South East Queensland with a Go Bus Travel Benefit card.

Relocation

Relocating for work?

Pay for your relocation expenses with your pre-tax salary including:

Removal expenses and storage household effects
Expenses relating to the sale or acquisition of a house
Engagement of relocation consultant
Transport as a result of relocation

e-Bike

Pay for your e-Bike with pre-tax salary.

Travelling for Work

Pay for your work related travel with your pre-tax salary.

Car Parking on Employee Premises

Pay for your car parking fees, where carparking is provided on your employer's premises, with your pre-tax salary. These expenses are totally exempt from FBT.

Mobile Phone

Pay for the purchase price of your mobile phone with your pre-tax salary. This benefit is only available if it is used at least 50% for business purposes.

Living Away From Home Allowance

Under the FBT rules, individuals who satisfy the living away from home criteria can be paid an allowance (LAFHA) which may receive concessional tax treatment.

iPad, Tablet or Laptop

Pay for the purchase of one iPad, Tablet, or Laptop with your pre-tax salary. This benefit is only available if the iPad, Tablet, or Laptop is primarily for use in your employment. You may not have to pay GST for this benefit.

Income Protection Insurance

Pay for your income protection insurance premiums with your pre-tax salary. You may not have to pay GST for this benefit.

Fly-In Fly-Out

If you live in a remote area, pay for the cost of airfares to and from your usual place of residence to your workplace with pre-tax salary. This falls under the 'Remote Area Assistance, Fly-In, Fly-Out' benefit. You may not have to pay GST for this benefit.

Airport Lounge Membership

Pay for your airport lounge membership feed with your pre-tax salary. Next time you travel, sit back and relax knowing you saved on your airport lounge membership fees. You may not have to pay GST for this benefit.

Remote Area Exempt Expenses

If you live in a remote area, you have access to the following benefits.

Holiday Transport

Pay for your holiday travel expenses for yourself, your spouse or partner, and children, with your pre-tax salary.

There is a minimum three days leave requirement.

Residential Fuel

Pay for your electricity and gas expenses for the remote area home you are living in with your pre-tax salary. This benefit is available to those who also salary package their rent or mortgage as a remote area benefit.

Mortgage Interest

Pay for the interest you pay on your mortgage for your remote area house, with your pre-tax salary. You must be living in the residence to claim this benefit.

Rent

Pay for your rent payments of your remote area house with pre-tax salary.
