You may be able to salary package your bus travel from home to work on TransLink bus services in South East Queensland with a go Bus Travel Benefit card.
You may not use this card for any other modes of transport, other than buses, regardless of whether the card can also be used for trains, trams, ferries etc.
Refunds are available only when you exit the bus benefit program or at the end of your employment with your employer.
Once eligible, you can salary package your bus travel expenses by loading funds onto a go Bus Travel Benefit card. Deductions are made from your pre-tax salary each period, and the funds are loaded onto the card accordingly.
You cannot claim a refund until you exit the bus travel program or at the end of your employment with your employer.
You must sign a declaration prior to the commencement of use of the bus card and annually thereafter.
The declaration states, amongst other things, that the bus travel card will only be used for work-related bus travel, between your home and place of work.
