The electric car revolution is well underway in Australia, with more and more drivers making the switch to the environmentally friendly mode of transport.

There is a growing range of electric and hybrid car models available and no shortage of choice for Australians looking to make the switch.

Here are five EVs launching by the end of the year in Australia!

2024 Kia EV9 Electric SUV

Kia has unveiled it's largest electric vehicle to date, the Kia EV9 and it's coming to Australia between July to September this year!

Comparable in size to the Toyota LandCruiser, the family sized SUV is yet to release detailed surrounding the driving range, battery, or price. Reports suggest it will fall between $90,000 and $120,000 making it Kia's most expensive vehicle yet.

Images released show an exciting interior offering full of tech including dual 12.3-inch screens, one for infotainment and one touchscreen, twin sunroof panels and 360-degree camera.

2024 Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe Plug-In Hybrid

Due in late 2023, the Mercedes-Benz GLC Coupe has had a complete makeover with a plug-in hybrid variant available (in Europe). It's unknown if the hybrid version will be available in Australia, however with our rapid adoption of EVs we remain hopeful!

The electric range is claimed to be up to 131km for petrol-electric models and up to 130km for the diesel-electric model.

The petrol models however are confirmed for Australia with pricing expected to be revealed closer to the launch date from October to December. One thing certain, expect a price increase from the current model.

2023 MG ZS EV Long Range Electric SUV

The MG ZS EV is a popular choice for drivers wanting an affordable, stylish, and safe electric car. The car features a modern exterior design, with a spacious and comfortable interior. It comes packed with a range of exciting tech including a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, panoramic sunroof and 360-degree camera system.

In terms of safety, it comes equipped with advanced features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and adaptive cruise control.

Now enter the new long range model expected to be released in April 2023 locally. This new version offers, you guessed it... an extended range! MG claims a driving range of 440km on a single charge, up from 320km on the standard model.

With pricing starting from $55,990 before on-road costs, the MG ZS EV offers an affordable long-range model that qualifies for the Electric Car Discount Policy.

2023 MG 4 Hatchback

Competing with the world's most popular car, the Toyota Corolla, MG have announced their MG 4 and it's due between July to September.

Pricing is still yet to be released, however the small passenger electric car is shaping up to be one of Australia's cheapest electric cars.

The model comes equipped with two battery packs offering up to 450kms of driving range. Three variants are going to be available in Australia.

2023 BMW iX1

BMW is introducing their new entry-level EV which is expected to appear on showroom floors in April.

Competing against the Tesla Model Y, Mercedes-Benz EQA, and Volvo XC40 Recharge. There are two lines on offer including the xLine and M Sport trim.

The BMW boasts a driving range of up to 440km, battery charging time from 10% to 80% in under 30 minutes, and a 0-100km/h acceleration time of 5.6 seconds. All fitting for the price tag starting from $84,900 before on-road costs.
